Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show
Hey guys today I'm going to tab a timeless classic by old crow medicine show, wagon wheel. The song is really easy it is just G D C C all the way through and it is a really good tune when you get it how you want it.
G D
Heading down south to the land of the pines
C
I'm thumbing my way into North Carolina
C
Staring up the road and pray to God I see headlights
G D
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
C
Picking me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
C
And I'm a-hopin' for Raleigh, I can see my baby
tonight
G D
So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
C
Rock me momma any way you feel
C
Hey momma rock me
G D
Rock me momma like the wind and the rain
C
Rock me momma like a south bound train
C
Hey momma rock me
Repeat Intro G D C C
G D
Running from the cold up in New England
C
I was born to be a fiddler in an old time string band
C
My baby plays a guitar, I pick a banjo now
G D
Oh, north country winters keep a-getting me down
C
Lost my money playing poker so I had to leave town
C
But I ain't turning back to living that old life no
more
G D
So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
C
Rock me momma any way you feel
C
Hey momma rock me
G D
Rock me momma like the wind and the rain
C
Rock me momma like a south bound train
C
Hey momma rock me
(The next piece is just played single strums)
G D
Walkin' to the south out of Roanoke
C
I caught a trucker out of Philly had a nice long toke
G D
But he's a-heading west from the Cumberland gap
C
To Johnson City, Tennessee
G D
I gotta get a move on before the sun
C
I hear my baby calling my name and I know that she's
the only one
G D C
And if I die in Raleigh at least I will die free
G D
So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
C
Rock me momma any way you feel
C
Hey momma rock me
G D
Oh, rock me momma like the wind and the rain
C
Rock me momma like a south bound train
C
Hey, hey momma rock me
Drink A Beer by Luke Bryan
Intro: G E7
D C, I like to hammer on the A string on the G note, the D string on the E7,
the G string on the D, and the D string on the C. It just makes it sound more
like the song
G E7 D C
When I got
the news today, I didn’t know what to say, so I just hung up the phone
G E7
D C
I took a
walk to clear my head, this is where the walking led, can’t believe you’re
really gone
(let
the C ring)
Don’t feel
like going home
G D E7 C
So I’m gonna
sit right here, on the edge of this pier, and watch the sun-set disappear
G D
And drink a beer
Repeat
Intro: G E7 D C
G E7 D C
Funny how
the good ones go, too soon but the good lord knows, the reasons why I guess
G
E7 D
Sometimes
the greater plan, is kinda hard to understand, right now it don’t make sense
C
I can’t make
it all make sense
G D E7 C
So I’m gonna
sit right here, on the edge of this pier, and watch the sun-set disappear
G D
And drink a beer
The next
part you’ll have to listen to the song a little bit to get the strum pattern
down, it’s not difficult but its more drawn out than what the tab shows.
G D
E7 C
So long my
friend, until we meet again,
G D E7 C
I’ll
remember you, and all the times that we used to
G C E7 C
Sit right
here, on the edge of this pier, and watch the sun set disappear
G D
And drink a
beer
I hope you
guys enjoyed this tab, comment if you liked it and keep checking back for more
tabs and lessons.
